Art Yan，born in 1981 in Shanghai. Graduated from East China University of Science & Technology with a Masters Degree in Art & Design in 2006. Since then, he has been served art institutes including: Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai, assistant to the chief educator (2006–2007); Shanghai eARTS Festival, in-house curator & producer (2007–2010); Videotage (Hong Kong), general manager (2011–2012); Chronus Art Center, executive director (2013-2014); Shanghai Himalayas Museum, head of curatorial office, in the same period he also serviced The Shanghai Project as director of Public Project, and acting director of Exhibition (2015–2017). Currently works and lives as independent curator in Shanghai.
